Thursday night was not good for GSR. The Westbound train (5MA8/8701) could
not get out of the car sheds because the XPT was Laaaaate due to WOLO heat
speed restrictions (90km/h max.) XPT at platform means late Overdue. I
believe GSr have complained to VLP on the basis that gsr were 'healthy' (on
time) and XPT was unhealthy. The Eastbound (5AM8/8702) had power van
problems. It got as far as Tailem Bend before finally expiring. After a
couple false restarts the buses were called and the train resumed its
journey 222 minutes late (Very unhealthy) as empty cars. As you can see the
journey only got worse.
