Today (Thursday 05.11.1998):-
**The Austrac train arrived in Melbourne hauled by X 45-4836. It passed
Broadmeadows at about 1053 with about 10-15 fully loaded wagons. The
train on Tuesday in and out of Melbourne was cancelled.
**The APEX, 9315/9318 from Brooklyn to Kilmore East and return was
hauled by T 390-X 44. The usual "time delayed" crate for this train 543
had failed yesterday afternoon. 543 will be back on the train on Friday.
**A 85 suffered severe damage to one end, after hitting a grain wagon
somewhere???, earlier this week. It is currently stabled in "Polly's
Road" out the back of the Diesel Shops at Dynon.
**On Friday, there is a spark transfer from Newport workshops to Bendigo
workshops, departing Newport at 0525 as train number 9011, and returning
from Bendigo Workshops at 0945 as train number 9012.
