Historical
The first true 'suburban' services only really began as part of the Electric
metropolitan train system. The first suburban electric trains were
the Tait type wooden sets that were originally steam hauled until the
overhead wires were erected.
The tait type carriages were followed by the blue
Harris sets, and later the Hitachi and Comeng sets. This section
will be covered in more detail in the future.
