Introduction...

The Broadmeadows railway line is part of the Melbourne suburban rail system (Victoria, Australia).  Both Suburban and Intrastate services operate along the line, with the intrastate services continuing beyond Broadmeadows to Albury Shepparton and Seymour.
The line is operated by Bayside Trains (name change to M>Train), a private company, who are under contract by the government to provide the service.  The short branch line to Flemington Racecourse is operated by Connex Melbourne (ex Hillside Trains) while V/Line Passenger (VLP) operates Country services under similar agreements to Bayside (M>Train).  National Express operates both Bayside and VLP.
