Glenroy Station became a Premium Station in 1998, and is one of the busiest stations on the BMS line.   The Station is located at the top of a long steep grade which begins near Pascoe Vale, it is known as the Glenroy Bank.  Many trains struggled up this bank in the old times, these days the modern Sparks and Diesels climb it without much difficulty at all.
