Rolling StockVictorian Country (V/line) services are operated by National Express, a private operator who is contracted to run the service on behalf of the government. The service to Shepparton was leased to a private operator at a much earlier stage, and is operated by Hoy's Buslines of Shepparton, however they only staff the train, whilst the driver, and train are provided by V/line.
Sprinters operate a large portion of the daily passenger services between Spencer Street and Craigieburn/Donnybrook/Seymour. They run in as a 1 or 2 car consist on this line, while they can run as up to an 8 car consist. A Sprinter service used to run as far as Albury, but has since been replaced by a loco hauled train.
The N class diesel electric locomotives operate services to Shepparton, Albury, and, on occasion, to Seymour. These locomotives dominate the loco hauled trains on the Broadmeadows line. They are usually coupled to a consist of Z,, N or S cars.
The A class run 4 peak services to and from Seymour during the morning and evening peaks. These locos can also be seen operating occasionally at the Kensington grain siding, under the ownership of Freight Australia. Rolling Stock
