This bridge has been subject to many high trucks becoming stuck underneath. The tram is Z216. (mid-late 1999)
The most notable perhaps being an Australia Post truck which jammed the overhead wire for the tram between it and the bridge.
This started a fire, which then set the truck alight, stopping trains, trams, and road traffic from coming anywhere near the area!
New low clearance signs warning of the overhead wires in centre lanes were installed in late 1999 as far as I know.
Looking Northward as a Comeng set (including 278M) passes under the bridge, heading for Broadmeadows. A view of the bridge in a southerly direction.
This bridge is located on the north side of Essendon Station, and is 3 tracks wide, although only 2 tracks still lie on it. The third track's space is still there on the opposite side to where the photo below was taken. The tram seen is running the route 59, bound for Airport West.
