I really don't think the Cooma line was ever very profitable. It was very
infrequently used and poorly maintained in the mid 1970's.

I wonder what the patronage is like on the Canberra to Sydney line??

I remember catching the 12:30 train from Canberra to Goulburn on a Sunday
afternoon around 1976-77 during winter, to get back to Uni in Syd. We got to
Goulburn around 4:30 - 5:30 to link up with the Riverina Express. Man was it
COLD and dark.
