Thanks Bob , thought it was something like that.
Do you know who works the northern end of Mile End Loop.
There seems to be some sort of break in the section from Mile End to 
Salisbury where according to Graham Vincents excellent signalling book 
is where CTC starts to Crystal Brook.
The line in between , ie from Mile End to Salisbury and also the Dry creek 
line seem to be in some sort of no mans land.
