Highlights of N.S.W. Trip

Hi All

Just arrived home after a 12 day trip to N.S.W. Drove via Junee, Cootamundra
and Sydney to Newcastle/Maitland/Cessnock area.

Highlights were:

Thursday 23/9/99 - Loop extension appeared to be complete at Chiltern, also
Gerogery and Culcairn.
Thursday 23/9/99 - Junee: Silverton 442s3 on lease to Austrac, 4814, 1872
(Austrac)
C503 (full V/Line colours), 4403 (blue and yellow), 4498 ("red terror") -
all stored in roundhouse
Friday 24/9/99 - Enfield Yard: 8040
Thursday 30/9/99 - Marrandoo: 8117 National Rail colours
Port Waratah: 4701 & 4486 on 4128 Lachlan Valley freight to Port Botany,
nice to see and hear under brilliant sunny skies, temperature 28C. Later set
up video and cameras at Sulphide Junction when it rolled south at 11:08.
4486 had No.2 end leading but who cares - seeing any 44 running in 1999 was
worth it.
Double 80's were on wheat workings from Werris Creek to Port Waratah
throughout the week
Saturday 2/10/99 - Yass Junction: 42203 (candy) on SL15 down Griffith Pass,
departed on up line due to trackwork
Also sighted a single NR working BM2 on Cowan Bank at approx 08:50 Wednesday
29/9/99.

I will be posting some photos on my website shortly.
