Toowoomba Passenger Trains

Albeit for a short time, passenger trains returned to part of the Toowoomba
line in SE Qld in September.

Two passenger trains a day, consisting of a 4 car QR "Tin Set" operated from
Toowoomba Station to Spring Bluff, approx half way between Toowoomba and
Gatton, taking passengers to the magnificent Spring Bluff Station Gardens as
a part of the 50th Annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

On Sunday 20th September a rare cross between two passenger trains occured
when the ARHS (Qld) special returning to Brisbane crossed the returning QR
afternoon service from Spring Bluff.

In the 10 day carnvial period, saw 2 Spring Bluff services per day, an ARHS
Steam Special (including a return special trip to Helidon) over the weeekend
of the 19th & 20th and the normal Westlander services to/from Charleville
(Tuesday & Thursday westbound and Thursday and Saturday eastbound.

The newly restored Toowoomba Station hasn't seen so much passenger action
for a long time.
