Rail safety

Standards Australia is reconsitituting Committee ME/79 on Railway
Safety.

PRIME FUNCTION: Standardization in the field of requirements for the
preparation and implementation of railway safety systems for the
management of safety in existing railway organizations and for the
accreditation of new entrants. Preparation of safety codes of practice.

EXCLUSIONS:  Monorail systems (ME/66) and two-rail systems having a gauge
of less than 600 mm.  Crane runways and slipways.  OH&S matters (dealt
with by SF committees). Material and equipment specifications.
