The NSWRTM in fact have a few Aurora cars, and had some years ago ran a set
to Melbourne. They have the potential to actually run another Aurora
special, but this is determined by market forces. if such a train ran again
I would certainly front up.

As for other Aurora cars hanging about doing nothing, there are Aurora
sleepers and a power car inside the Junee roundhouse owned by a private
buyer that has never turned a wheel in revenue service. These cars would be
of use to a preservation organisation, but such organisations can not
compete with the cash power of private concerns, even though the rail
preservationists may actually use them.
