I would not say "Well Patronised" in terms of the market share, compared to
airlines.

A timetable of 1900 - 0700, with properly trained crews (who said it HAS to
Countrylink - why not QANTAS - they are getting involved in SpeedRail after
all) and properly maintained rolling stock should work IF properly
marketted. If QANTAS run it, then it would be possible to come back early by
plane.
