You would not be laughed out, you would be dragged out by men in white coats
and committed to an asylum.

What are your traffic projections for this extension? How many people
commute from this area per day (and the modal breakdown - cat, train/bus,
bus)?

Probably a good idea - new stations do not cost much (particularly since
they will be unattended in this new era.

How many people would use it? What are the traffic numbers for this? How
many peopl currently change at Ringwood, and would it be in sufficient
numbers to justify the expense of construction and new trains? If the
numbers are relatively small, why wouldn't cross-country buses be more
convenient (given that they pick up closer to origin and destination)?

Why?

See above for Healesville.

About the only good suggestion was electrifying to Sunbury. The remainder
would not have a snowflakes chance in hell of being achieved, NOT because of
political indifference, but because they are not warranted, particularly
with regard to the Geelong suburban network you proposed.

But you missed the one obvious improvement they should make - electrify
Werribee to South Geelong!
