Howdy Graeme!
First thing about Milos.Old Man Milos set up some Cool Stores
and Warehouses at the Kelly Street Crossing just inside the SG loop at
wodonga[only about a km from the Wodonga Station.
Over the years he has been going hot and cold, gone through a
couple of Bankruptcies, and awaited graduation of his two sons who seem to
have the business on an even footing at long last. They have a contract with
Uncle Bens, amongst others, and handle most export containers
of Pet Food, by rail to Melbourne. Uncle Bens distibute Interstate Pet Food
to Sydney, Adelaide and Perth in 65 ft louvers, supplied by National Rail.
They also do a little Container Traffic.
Uncle Bens Dog Food Train consists of on the front, about eleven flats or 22
containers and on the back, approx 5 flats containing 30 ft Shell Chemical
containers, briquettes etc and are shipped from Bandianna, CRT container
Inland Port.
Uncle Bens [9691] departs each day about midday, not later that 1330, and
returns as 9691 about 1030 each morning.
Afraid it is not new traffic, and it is at risk at the moment, because the
new company is not prepared to have a Pilot sitting around all day and nite,
just to do a couple of shunts at these companies fancy. We now have one
Pilot from 0930 to 1930 each day, which makes it very difficult for Milos to
load their containers during night shift.
Contaqiners going to Boort would probably be Fast Track vehicles. These
are in and out of North Dynon each day Monday to Friday, and have Blue
'x-Race' containers and service the Freight Centers at some large towns.
They are heavily subsidised, and will not last very much longer. We are
surprised they have lasted at all. When the containers arrive by road from
No4 shed near the old Casino, they are placed on flats, and marked with
chalk, this is the only time vehicles are so marked at this time.
  Hope this helps
