Passing a tram on the right is one of the most dangerous and frightening
things I have seen.... and it seems to be happening a lot more now.

I have seen passengers have to leap for their lives as they get off a
tram and walk around the front of it to get to the other side of the
road and almost get bowled by cretins passing it on the right.

Trams run in the centre of the road. Passing one on the right means you
are automatically on the wrong side of the road. You face the immediate
prospect of hitting a tram coming the other way, or a car or a truck.
