Albury isnt a bad place although most activity is a night so you dont get to
see a lot .
Trains start arriving from around 16-00 from Melb to Sydney and from around
21-00 Sydney to Melb.
Theres not a lot of activity during the day , only the VLP broad guage pass
trains.
If you go further north then you get to see wheat trains coming off the Temora
branch at Cootamundra.
These do run during the day , but only weekdays.
There is neglible traffic to Canberra these days ,3 explorers per day in each
direction and the oil train ,which returns empty around 1300 most weekdays
and Saturday.

If you want to see trains crawling up steep grades then the Cullerin range
north of Gunning is a good spot, lots of continuous curving 1:75 grades.
