As I said to the other guy, the train does not drop you off at your doorstep.
Roads exist because trains cannot provide for all transport needs, including
freight. However freight can go by train part of the way and road the rest.
So can people, but not with the same convenience as by road, and they still
need road vehicles to get from the rail terminus to their actual location.
