Wait for the next generation of GSM (digital) mobile phones. The
largest single part of a mobile phone these days is the keypad, so
until the human finger is redesigned they can't get any smaller. This
means that there is now space available inside mobile phones for other
bits and pieces. The next generation of GSM phones will have GPS
transponders built in as standard. Not only will you be able to see your
position, you will be able to transmit it over the phone by choice (e.g.
if broken down or calling a taxi) or automatically (e.g. when making an
emergency 000 call).
