Re: Rail Rumour File!!! Not True

As usual the rumour mill is wrong!
Steamrail Victoria are operating the tour at a slight loss as a service to
our patrons! We have stated repeatedly that unlike other organisations we
will support the people who support us and only cancel tours under
exceptional circumstances.
The commercialisation of the railways affects everyone, even Steamrail and
we must 'guess' what the very fickle Victorian railfan wants and try to
provide, otherwise some commercial operator will run the tours and pocket
the profit!
Remember, Steamrail receives no Government funding and has restored it's
large fleet solely using the revenue from it's operations and the generous
support from our long suffering supporters!
What we are trying to do is provide sufficient variety to suit most fans as
well as the general public. If we get it wrong, we wear it!
The tour will operate and there are seats available.
Call Marilyn on (03) 9397 1953 with your credit card ready and have a great
day out!
As for the rumour mill..how many days until they no longer exist?

For the information of members Steamrail will NOT make a cash loss on the
tour but will not cover fully it's internal contribution to restoration
funds.
