The VR T class is a model G12B or G22B depending on engine. Similar, but
not the same, locos are operated by BHP and QR and
NSWGR/PTCofNSW/SRA/ABC it's simple as do re mi. Sorry about that. 

My point is that the 830 class and its Silverton and NSW counterparts
were virtually the same design whereas the Qld locos of the EMD V8
variety were significantly different in size, weight, placement of
equipment and appearance to the Ts. They also had 6 wheel bogies. I
would guess that the NSW 49 class were probably very similar to the Ts
except for having 6 wheel bogies. 

So clones, at least for QR is a bit of a misnomer.
