Hurstbridge line happenings (Melb)

Hi all,

A few infrastructure improvements are about to start on the Hurstbridge
line:

1.  Flinders St pfm 1 will be reconstructed starting this weekend (Feb 20),
and finishing on April 9.  Presumably it will be concreted like the other
platforms, for future laying of tiles.  Epping and Hurstbridge line trains
will be using the old Princess Bridge platform 14, and pfm 2 on weekends and
public holidays and after the 21:03 Eltham departure on weekdays.

2.  Relaying of track will soon happen on the up side of Watsonia, Concrete
sleepers and rails lay beside and between the runing lines.  (T374 recently
ran a rail train which dropped off the rails)

3.  Relaying of track is also destined for the down side Alphington, perhaps
even on the Darebin Creek bridge.  Wooden sleepers and fishplates were being
layed out next to the line by PTC staff today (Tue-16-Feb).
