Centre of Car A.  It will be expensive... :-)

If you want to go steerage, I find car D in economy more pleasant than first
class, as it is the non-alcohol car, and not full of whingeing pensioners.

As an aside, Countrylink's new computer system will not allow you to reserve
specific seats any more.
