This weekend, a further stage of the Flinders St CBI project (Stage D1)
will be commissioned. This will be replacement of the existing Relay
Interlocking over the Up & Down Burnley Locals & Platforms 4 & 5, with
a CBI (Computer Based Interlocking). Actually, to be specific, an SSI.
Most/All signals will be moved or replaced, few new signals and a few
abolished. Also a number of the signals become 'Underground' Style U
signals.
Forward Planning Department:
When the Platform 14 / Jolimont Lines Area is resignalled later on, I'm
told that between Jolimont and Flinders St, at one point a 90 sec.
service will be needed account football, so all Autos will be bagged,
and flagmen used instead. Further details when available...
