It is not realy a problem, all thay have to do is get a set of
standard gauge bogies (is that the correct word) lift the locomotive
roll the narrow gauge set out, role the standard gauge set in and
reconect every thing. Then do a couple of tests and it is now a
operating standard gauge locomotive. Some of the old Whyalla DE class
(before the MK rebuilds) No. 1, 2, 8 and 9 have operated on standard
guage on the now closed Cofffin Bay Tramway or at Whyalla.
There were rumours that ASR was to take over the iron ore haulage for
BHP, is this true?
If so what will happen to the locomotives that are used by BHP for
this service, do BHP own these locomotives or are they like the
CLP/CLF/ALF locomotives of ASR?

Thank you,
David Chester
