NSW - SRA Advertisement for ETR drivers

Hiyas,

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this in the ng so far.

In the internal State Rail, Rail Services, RAC, FreightCorp publication
"Career Options and Information" published 22-7-1999, appeared the
advertisement at the bottom of this post.

How many people noticed this ad, and how many applied?

I was a trainee e'man at Delec for 18 months in 1991, and I've
applied(because I can earn the same pay for a nice shiftwork job - I
miss shift work).

The gossip I've heard is that CityRail *might* require as many as 300+
ETR drivers to meet roster requirements in the next 18 months, depending
on other industrial issues.

I've also heard that all applications were forwarded friday last to an
external employment agency for culling and initial selection.

C'mon guys, there must be some more scuttlebut out there.
