To put not too fine a point on it, the delay was caused by an oversight,
which resulted in 1 unit running out of fuel and the other running out of
water, just North of Grafton...... NT1 was returned to Grafton where a unit
(unsure of the number) was removed from the stabled NT25.... and water was
added to the unit which required water.... as no one was sure as to why the
Unit which had no fuel had failed (like who would expect that?) it was
placed on NT26 to be hauled dead back to Sydney on NT26... when NT26 was
being prepared that morning it was discovered that there was no fuel in the
loco... the supply was replenished and NT26 departed on time with both units
working... sometimes these things happen :)
