Rumour has it that BB18 1/4 1089 - the last main line steam loco built in
Australia - is being moved from Redbank to Ipswich Workshops tomorrow for
possible restoration.
BB18 1/4 1079 is nearly finished its long overhaul and is expected out on
test runs soon. It has some modifications including auto couplers - a first
for Queensland steam.
Work is progressing on AC16 221A. Apparently, it needs a new boiler which
is being designed.
DD17 1051 is undergoing overhaul. It is also expected to reappear with auto
couplers.
