To be fair and give equal time to the other parties, the Democrats also
have a Transport policy which is friendly to rail.
Their policy includes
- providing money and incentives to increase the use of railways for freight
- actively discouraging heavy vehucles from town and city centres
- extending the rail network
- providing more passenger stations on existing lines
- devloping a network of high speed inter-urban (as opposed to inter-capital)
railways
- reopening the Mt Gambier line.
Cheers
