Maybe RTA would be liable to fix the track up if they bulldozed through it
off their own bat (although I doubt they did this; I guess they talked to
the RTA).
A few months ago Caboolture Council wanted to reconstruct a road across the
Caboolture Wamuran branch on the basis that the branch had been abandoned.
A pretty safe bet, you'd think, as pineapple trains stopped several months
ago, the line is overgrown, and QR has dumped a huge mound of dirt over the
perway at the end of the Caboolture yard sidings. Apparently a low budget
buffer stop.
The Council asked QR, who basically said "no, the line should be regarded
as operational". I haven't noted any operations over the mound of dirt yet,
but I'll post it if I see any. :-)
