Standard Westinghouse air brakes on most systems. TGR and WAGR also used
vacuum brakes, but have mostly now converted to air. Some railcars also
use electro-pneumatic brakes.
VR experimented with vacuum, steam and water brakes in the 1880s before
deciding on air.
