My guess, if and when Geelong electrification happens, would be similar to
Queensland Citytrain and the Gold Coast line - the Geelong line would be run
as part of the Northern Loop lines with current trains with any extra trains
purchased being something along the lines of IMUs - still fundamentally
suburban trains but maybe catering slightly more for longer journeys eg
toilets, water bubblers, etc. They wouldn't last long in the Western suburbs
sadly but the pollies can say that they provided the facilities.
