Bus drivers can cope steering a vehicle, as well as being distracted by
fares, sections and ticket machines.

Trams since the PCC cars have been designed so that the driver has his hands
free to do these tasks.

In Ballarat and Bendigo(and Melbourne once upon a time), one man operators
had to sell tickets from a bag hung around their neck as well as operate the
tram controls by hand.

Modern tram drivers have been totally deskilled.
