Noticed that the State Government has erected two large 'Railways on the
move' signs at Ringwood station, both on the down building, one facing the
road with the other on the platform side. Apparently they are going to spend
$8.6 million on re-development.
I am aware that this includes new signaling and alterations to make the up
platform an island to provide three platforms.
Does anyone know what the revised track layout will be? Will they remove the
seldom used centre (straight through) road and move the up platform over or
relocate the back storage road out into the car park to make room for the
new platform? Is the signal box to be removed?
A new comuter car park has recently been opened on the up side of Wantirna
Road. Could this be a replacement for part of the existing car park or just
coincidence.
