Last years of the Quorn and Wilmington Lines

Around 1988-89, AN appeared to be in some uncertainty regarding what to
do with its isolated narrow gauge lines to Wilmington and Orroroo.
Alcos 846 and 859 were returned from Tasmania and sent initially to
Gladstone to work the Wilmington line, and also worked from Peterborough
to Orroroo on the remaining stub of the old Quorn line, these units
replacing the NTs and NSU 58.

It was also mentioned in Catchpoint in 1988 that AN planned to eliminate
Yy and Xx 4 wheel open wagons from these lines by transferring 20
redundant ENOS bogie open wagons from the Eyre Peninsula. Does anyone
know whether this actually occurred before AN changed its mind and gave
up on these two lines in early 1989 ?

Cheers
