I'm now onto my third year of yearly plastic mag striped tickets in
Sydney.  Those tickets have been through a reader of some sort or
other at least once a day, frequently several times a day, with the
first two lasting a full year without problems and the current one
showing no signs of not lasting a year.

I was sceptical of the ability of yearly tickets to survive when they
were introduced here, but my initial fears have so far proven
unfounded.

Are the Melbourne longer duration periodical tickets produced on
plastic ticket stock?
