Whittlesea - Epping section closed about 1959, with a section over
Cooper St retained to stable a 7 car set.

Rail plans to extend in the 1970's with train sets built new 1974+ with
'South Morang' headboards. AMP as part of its land development in the
area proposed to BUILD the station if the rail line was extended. This
was rejected. Rail formation now cut by southbound road for connection
to Childs Rd, Mill Park. Whittlesea Council have expressed interest in a
station at this point which is about 3km east of epping station.
