Re: QR Tilt Train Speed Trials

Someone is pulling your chain. The first tilt unit has only reached a
documented 170km/hr during tests by QR and the builder. Rumour has it that
is capable of maybe 220, but no suitable closed track has been found to try
it out.

As the unit is still in the hands of the builder, and continuously under
their supervision, it would be more than the driver's job was worth to take
the unit beyond the authorised speed for the particular test. It is new
technology and the prototype is being subjected to a rigourous test
program.
