A close shave at Mordi

This afternoon I saw something which was reminiscent of a scene from a
Keystone Cops silent movie.

At Mordialloc station, on the Frankston line of the Melbourne train
network, there was a privately owned ambulance which had lost its right
rear wheel and come to a 3 point landing blocking the Down track at the
level crossing at the down end of the station. The wheel was nowhere in
sight. There were people frantically climbing the platform to alert the
station staff. Thankfully, the SM was on hand so presumably a serious
situation was avoided, but you have to think it was very unlucky to happen
right on a railway crossing, but unbelievably lucky that it was right next
to a rare location - a staffed station!
