A similar silly thing happens on Countrylinks Melb - Sydney XPT (the
night one ) which I travel on a bit to go to Yass J, ie get off at to
go to Canberra
.In holidays times this train is hard to get a booking from Melb
to Yass J and the reason is that every time Ive have travelled ,a heap of
people use this train to travel from Spencer St to Benalla or
Wangaratta,Albury also.All these stations are very well covered by Vlines BG
services so it makes no sense to carry passengers on the XPT within Victoria,
especially when doing so robs Countrylink of long distance passengers.
Beats me.
