Craig:
Answer I: After a level-crossing accident at Cowangie it was scrapped on
site on Sunday morning.
Answer II: Your fellow fans couldn't see properly in the dark. S313 was
the leading loco of the weekend portion from Ouyen to Melbourne on Sunday.
Answer III: Your fellow fans saw the day train returning from Birchip (not
Woomelang) on Saturday. This set out from Donald with a blue T and an
Orange T, but could have been exchanged with the T-A seen on a stabled up
grain freight at Maryborough that morning.

This excellent Steamrail tour has not yet been reported on the net. The
trip ran with good weather, was highly popular (it attracted people from
Queensland, ACT and WA), and set out with four locos and many sleeping cars
returned to traffic in a hectic rush over the preceding weeks. There were
some delays because of problems with section-authority equipment, hence the
cutback to Birchip. The locos performed well. The onboard Steamrail
volunteers served us cheerfully and well.
