On Sunday,working the Uncle Bens Pilot at Wodonga, I awaited the arrival of
a special Light Engine Movement from Melbourne of two W.A Locos on route to
Junee.
Due at 1310, but delayed by a breakdown at Springhurst...and you guessed it
I missed it when it very quietly snook through at about 1430[?}
The Signalman, said that one Loco was dead and that the Operaters, Great
Northern,
tried to arrange a jump start, but as Albury Loco died a couple of years
ago, and
Wodonga is not much better, there was no help for him.
Now here is a question for you all. Is this the first Private Rail
movement, into the North East, using their own crews [accepting that
National Rail is still a Government Owned Corp]
Has Great Northern Rail Services, as rumoured also secured the Ballast
trains for VicTrack?
Is the canny Moore opperation spreading its wings into NSW, perhaps in
parnership
with these guys in Junee? Well I dont know, but would like to?
