Apart from the fact that they are running the existing fleet into the
ground, with only ONE spare car of each type (apart from the XB/XF, where I
think they have three), an extra two spare cars would enable them to rotate
the cars around so that they ALL receive less mileage, and thus reduce the
likelihood of in-service failuree.
