XPT Delay 8/2/98

On Sunday morning of the 8th both ST1(Syd to Melb Night XPT) and ST2
(Melb to Syd night XPT) were delayed considerably. A car carrier semi
trailer failed to take the corner at the notorius Bells Rd crossing
between Albury and Gerogery at around 10:00 to 10:30pm (Sat 7th) and
rolled hitting the track and spilling its contents. I was at a wedding
in Albury and was due to travel to Melb on ST1 at 3:52 on the 8th. I
found out about the truck at 11 and went down to Albury Staion to find
out some info (stupid me!) Arrived at Albury to find ST2 sittng at the
station since 11.20 pm. The driver didn't know anything about the
accident as the conductor had just been told to stay at the station.
Living at Holbrook (45 mins from Albury) and going to catch the train
at Culcairn (30 mins from Albury) we inquired whether to come into
Albury or go to Culcairn. We were told to ring Albury Station later on
