There is a "Skybus" service which leaves the airport regularly (every 0.5 -
1 hour). It costs $8 per person. The two city stops are Spencer St.
Station, and Franklin St.

To get to Albert St from Spencer St, catch a tram # 109 (Mont Albert),
42(Mont Albert), 11(West Preston) or 12(City - Brunswick St) at the corner
of Spencer St and Collins St, heading into the city, or a tram #
86(Bundoora) or 96(East Brunswick) at the corner of Spencer St Bourke St,
heading into the city. Both lines cross Albert St, .

To get to Albert St from Franklin St is a bit harder, and involves two
trams, so I wouldn't suggest it.

Of course a taxi might be easier. It should cost about $5 - $7 from Spencer
St. to Albert St. If you catch it all the way from the Airport it would be
about $25 - $30.

If you are in town for 4 days, a Zone 1 weekly ticket is probably best
(Most attractions are in Zone 1). It gives you seven days travel for around
the price of 4. However, you cannot buy it on-board the tram. At Spencer
St, it is a fairly long walk down the subway to the suburban booking office
where you can buy it.

If you get a taxi to Albert St, your best bet for buying a weekly ticket
would be at Parliament Underground Station (in front of Parliament House).

The beauty of a weekly ticket is that if your 4 days include a weekend, you
can travel everywhere (like maybe out to Puffing Billy) on the weekend,
even if you only buy a Zone 1 ticket. The cost is $18.60

You can use the same ticket on bus (but not the Skybus), tram and train.

Hope this helps,
