Try the January issue of "Catchpoint". In short ASR was very active in
late 1997 with a locomotive shortage (GM1 was even pressed into service
and 6 of the stored ELs saw service during December) and lots of trains
on various branch lines and the SG to Murray Bridge/Tailem Bend, etc. But
this is basically a reflection of a good grain harvest. The sort of
changes you are interested in will take longer to emerge.
