(snip of reason why there's no such thing as a "Kippa-Ring" train)

I used to like the old station announcements at Brisbane Central for
the Lota (later Cleveland) Line... "The train at Platform Two is the
CLEVELAND train, stopping at all stations EXCEPT Doboy."

("Doboy" was a small station built in 1910 to accommodate workers at
the adjacent meatworks. The station closed soon after the meatworks
closed in the mid-1990s).

The announcement used to give me an image of an EMU speeding through
Doboy at 100km/h with doors openg so commuters leaving the train at
Doboy could leap into giant trapeze-artist style nets spread along the
length of the platform.

Getting on the train, however, would have provided a whole different
range of difficulties.

But now Doboy's been demolished, and Doboy commuters have to do
something else for their daily exercise.
