Unless its on a tram, because it validates it as it sells it. Then the
machine should be smart enough to only charge the 2-hour fare. After all,
that's what a conductor would do.

Good question. The gates don't ever capture tickets (I think), but the real
question is whether the gates will accept your ticket on the way into
platform 3. Maybe they will have to build a subway ;-)
