Having travelled on that line/siding to the army base in 1968, I have
neither seen physical evidence of nor any historical proof that it
continued on. That is not to say that it never did happen, but all the
evidence I have seen, apart from the need to build such a line in the
first place, would not support a connection to the Upfield line. The
line to the base would have been built sometime around WW2.
